EXPLAIN PREPOSITIONS!!?

I dont understand prepositions at all!! my teacher has a "student-teacher" who is teaching for the rest of the school year and she is terrible!! no one in my class understands her! so please...in the simplest way possible, explain what a preposition is and how to identify a prepositional phrase!
